Monthly Garden Tips & Tricks
Follow our series of monthly tips and tricks to ensure that your garden, whatever its size, looks the best all year round.
October - Monthly Garden Tips
With autumn upon us, fallen leaves should be cleared up
regularly and composted where possible (diseased debris should be burnt). Soil will need to be dug over to allow the
frost to break down large clumps and the lawn spiked to assist with
drainage. Any herbaceous and tender
plants will need to be mulched to protect them during winter.
Your spring cabbages can be planted out now and old crowns
of rhubarb should lifted and divided.
For those of you who want to try growing something new, fruit trees and
bushes should be planted in time for next year.
