Acer palmatum - Island Beds to right of main drive. Japanese maple. A small rounded tree with bright green deeply lobed leaves. Max Height 8m. Max Spread 10m. Partial Shade. Hardy.

Cortaderia selloana - Island beds to right of main drive and Wooded Walk (16) Pampas Grass. Densely tufted, clump-forming perennial grass with arching mid-green leaves, and tall stems of silky, silvery plumes. Max Height 2.5m to 3m. Max Spread 1.5m. Flowers August to September. Full Sun. Hardy.

Mahonia x media Lionel Fortescue - Island beds to right of main drive. An erect shrub with dark green leaves, sharply toothed. Bright yellow fragrant flowers in dense upright clusters from late autumn to late winter. Max Height 5m. Max Spread 4m. Flowers November to February. Full sun/partial shade. Hardy.
